The sinners are chopped up by the demon and the soul must drag around his boy parts in a circle until he gets back to the demon and the demon puts him back together and then is chopped up once again. There are dismembered body parts all over the ground. Bolgia 9: Dante and Virgil walk into the 9th bolgia which contains the Sowers of Discord.Dante replies truthfully and continues onto the next bolgia. Guido explains his story and asks how his hometown is doing. Dante walks on and sees Guido and talks with him as well. In one of them is Ulysses and Diomede who come out and explain their story. Dante then walks into the next pouch and sees the sinners being hidden in a shroud of flames. He realizes that he was exiled by thieves and evil counselors. Bolgia 8: As Dante leaves the 7th pouch he has a revelation about Florence and its downfall.The fifth one hasn't transformed but will soon. Four of them are in a non human form but go through a painful transformation between each other and reptiles. Dante then comes across the Five Thieves of Florence.
Even the Centaur joined into the beating and chases Vanni around. As a result more serpents attacked him and sent him into ultimate pain. Vanni became so caught up in his rant that he started to curse God. Because he never wanted to do that he curses a dark prophecy on Dante. He see Dante and explains who he is and why he is there. The one man Dante sees being set on fire is Vanni Fucci. They are punished by being suffocated by reptiles and if they are bit by one they will set on fire and come back painfully. Bolgia 7: Dante and Virgil are now into the 7th pouch and walk to the far bank to witness the Thieves.
The poets come across two Jovial friars who help guide them on their way onto the next bolgia.
Along their path they walk over Caiaphas who is on the ground in the same position as Jesus on the cross. They are hunched over as if heavily weighed down by the robes and walking in a line towards a narrow path.
